Our Leadership

Nico+ came to Canada in 2002 from Germany. Having pastored in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan in multiple churches of different streams, Nico was ordained into Holy Orders as a Priest in the Anglican Tradition in 2016. His desire is to see a revival in Spirit, Word and Sacrament making intentional space for the three streams in his leadership - charismatic, evangelical and historical.  He and his wife Nadira live with the conviction to see God’s Kingdom released in every sphere of influence and contend for unity within the body of Christ under the Lordship of Jesus. They fully embrace the adventure of life with their four Kids: Levi, Milena, Raphi and Rhianna. Together they love the outdoors, playing music, boardgames, laughing, good food prepared slowly and reading. God invited them as a family to bring the kingdom of God by providing full-time foster care. Nico is currently finishing his Master of Theology at Briercrest. He lives to kindle a joyful awareness of God’s goodness and restoration of God’s glorious church.

Micah and his wife Brianna moved to Regina in the summer of 2023, and he joined the staff of Celebration Church in September 2023. He graduated from Eston College with a Bachelors of Christian Ministry. 

Micah loves to play and write music, eat yummy food, spend time with his wife and friends, and to delight in what God has made. He heads up the Worship Arts and tech, as well as all communication lines in the church.

Kristen is honoured to serve as our Children's Pastor at Celebration Church. Her heart is to share the truth of the Gospel of Jesus to children along with teaching them about the Kingdom of Heaven and their identity as God's sons and daughters. Whenever she can, Kristen enjoys being outside with her family, rollerblading, snowboarding and a good day at the beach. She has 3 beautiful girls (Summer, Brooke and Harper) who fill her life with great joy and she is married to the man of her dreams, Matt. Together, it is their hope to encourage the people around them to fulfill their God-given dreams and for the revival of God's Holy Spirit to ignite the hearts of the people of Saskatchewan.

Tara, with her husband of 16 years (Blair) and their two boys (Jaxon and Ollie) moved to Regina in 2017 they quickly found a forever family at Celebration Church. Tara joined the Celebration staff in June 2020. She oversees our youth ministry as well as everything from potlucks to our food pantry. Tara loves being able to serve the body of Christ with her time and talents.

My wife, Helene and I began attending Celebration Church in 1982 and quickly became immersed in the life and family that has been central to our lives for over 40 years now. Some of my favourite memories along the way include; co-leading care groups, being part of the Elder and Board teams, evangelism in the city, missions overseas, preaching, conducting baptisms, officiating funerals and weddings, providing chaplain services at the Regina Correctional Center and now at Saskatchewan’s Legislature.

After a 30-year career as an engineer and business executive I retired early, in 2015, to join the pastoral leadership team at Celebration. In 2017 I became the Lead Pastor. I am thrilled that Nico is now our Lead Pastor. Now I have the wonderful opportunity to be back on staff, in a support role for him. We are without question in exciting days.

Maureen has been attending Celebration/Glen Elm since 1979, and has been employed at Celebration for the last 7 years as the Office Manager. Her role is to do “all things financial”, as well as be the friendly voice over the phone, and at the front desk. She is also the person to see regarding facility rentals.

Having attended Celebration since July 2009, Warren came on staff as facility property manager in October 2013. He takes care of all equipment, the building and grounds. He also sets up for events at Celebration, alongside being the ministry head for both the Ushers and Men's Ministry.

Matt currently serves as a Director at Celebration Church, bringing experience in leadership development, counselling, and social services. He previously worked on staff at Celebration Church, holding a pastoral role from 2011-2023, where he developed skills of leadership, facilitation, people management, and front-line service in a ministry context.

Matt joined Celebration Church in 2006 and has been involved in several different ministries, including bringing direct leadership to the youth ministry, young adults ministry, music ministry, and prayer ministry throughout his employment tenure.

On the Board, Matt contributes strengths in collaborative leadership and facilitation, helping support effective leadership and organizational oversight.

Outside of their Board role, Matt serves as a Family Treatment Program Manager at the Ranch Ehrlo Society in Regina, SK, as well as supporting organizations across Canada both in leadership training and private counselling.

Connie is currently serving in her third year on the BOD at Celebration Church.  Mostly volunteering in roles such as reading ministry, hospitality, and refugee aide, Connie has been involved also in governance and document revision for Celebration.  

She is a high school math teacher, having also taught Christian Ethics, English, and Physical Education.  The leadership skills developed through teaching and coaching are highly transferrable to her role on the BOD, and the relationships she has developed have benefitted the community as she has had many opportunities to connect her students to serve others in need, both through the Church and beyond.  Connie is married and has two daughters and one son-in-law.  Her family enjoys playing games and sports, hiking wherever they travel, and volunteering together in their communities.

Brian Schmidt currently serves as an Elder and Director at Celebration Church, bringing experience in accounting, tax, business, and investment management. Brian is a veteran financial adviser by profession, where he helps his clients with retirement and succession planning, along with wealth management, insurance products, and tax planning services. 

Brian and his wife Colleen have been attenders and members of Celebration for over 20 years.  Brian has been involved as an usher and scripture reading volunteer for many years. On the Board, Brian has been the Church's Treasurer for the past 5 years, helping to guide Celebration thru the COVID years and bring in some new policies and procedures on the finance/reporting requirements of the Church.

Outside of his Board role, Brian enjoys his family, golfing, curling, reading, occasionally baking, and cheering for his sports teams.

Thalia currently serves as a Director at Celebration Church, bringing experience in taking information and transforming it into actionable insights. She currently works in IT, where she is honing her skills in continuous improvement, analytics, and technology. She joined Celebration Church in 2020 and has been involved in Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry. On the Board, Thalia contributes strengths in organization, helping support effective leadership and oversight. Outside of their Board role, Thalia is an avid reader, a dress lover, and a breakfast connoisseur.

Joined the Celebration Church board in 2025. I have attended Celebration Church for more 10 years. 

In my professional life I have worked for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services Disability Programs for the last 25 years.  My Current Position is with our central office as a Senior Consultant Operational Policy and Service Design. During my employment I have had many position from a front line social worker, Supervisor, Manager. (Manager of Field Operations, Manager Client Services).  Prior to this I spent about eight years as a pastor with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada after graduating with a Bachelor of Theology Degree. My work background has provided me with a unique set of skills with some expertise in Community Development, Service Development through working with Community Based Organizations who are non-profit.  My current position provides be with many skills in policy development.   I also have good understanding of human resource policies and occupational health and safety practices. 

My wife Lynette and I both have a heart for ministry,  as part of this I enjoy teaching and preaching God's word. I also enjoy supporting our pastoral team however I can.

Alison currently serves as a Director at Celebration Church, coming from a primarily non-professional background. She has previously worked in recreation therapy with seniors, a few years in retail and now continues to work as a mother & homemaker. In these roles she developed skills in working with people, organization and administration.

Alison joined Celebration Church in 1980 and has been involved in various levels of children's ministry, co-leadership of small groups and mom's groups as well as avidly participating in prayer ministry.

On the Board, Alison contributes by leading our governance committee which helps to support effective leadership and organizational oversight.

Outside of her Board role, Alison has volunteered many times/seasons as a basketball coach, currently homeschools her youngest, and she loves to organize family opportunities for her seven kids, 4 daughters-in-law and granddaughter.

Lydia Leung serves as a Director at Celebration Church, bringing experience in the field of Education with specialties in the areas of Early Childhood and Intensive Needs & Disability Programming. Lydia currently works as Classroom Teacher with Regina Public Schools in a Pre-K Classroom in a community school. She has previously worked in the Early Learning and Child Care sector in the capacity of Child Care Director for over eight years where she developed skills in administration, finance, human resources, governance, leadership and mentorship. 

Lydia joined Celebration Church in 2012 and has been involved in Children’s Ministry, and served in the capacity of worship leader, musician and vocalist for Worship and Music Ministries in addition to behind the scenes support during other church events. On the Board, Lydia contributes strengths in providing diverse and inclusive perspectives in planning and conversations with respect to congregational needs and ministry support. She is a member of the Governance Committee, helping support effective leadership and organization oversight. 

Outside of her Board role, Lydia enjoys spending time with her family, supporting the local wrestling community, and advocating and supporting the disability community and new immigrant community during local events and activities and during the year.

Mike Wikman currently serves as a Director at Celebration Church, bringing experience in operations management and team leadership within the service and retail sectors. He has previously worked as a General Manager at Cleanair Filter Service, where he managed branch operations, financial processes, and staff. Mike also held senior roles at M&M Meat Shops and KFC including Restaurant General Manager and Supervisor. In these roles, Mike developed skills in finance, administration, HR, and operations, demonstrating leadership, compliance, and customer service.

He joined Celebration Church in 2019 and has been involved in youth, tech, and Alpha ministries. On the Board, Mike brings experience in organizational management, team development, and operational efficiency, helping support effective leadership.

Outside of his Board role, Mike works driving special needs children to school and enjoys spending time with family. He is also an avid reader with a particular passion for history books, often sharing interesting historical insights with friends and colleagues. This love of history inspires his approach to leadership, as he values learning from the past to guide present decisions.

I am trained in Clinical/Metabolic Biochemistry and Health Psychology. I have used these skills to serve people in both managerial and walk-alongside capacities as they traverse challenging circumstances. I’m also involved in community service as Board members of Saskatchewan African-Canadian Heritage Museum, Amakon Women Empowerment (AWE), and Regina Public School Board 2012-2020. These demanded governance skills and were instrumental to my training and earning a Diploma as a Certified Governance Director from the renowned Brown’s School of Governance. 

I joined Celebration (Glen Elm Lutheran) in 1982, and have been involved in various care groups, prayer groups, prayer chain, women groups, peer counseling group, and healing ministry. I have led Bible studies, and pre-service and other prayers. From these involvements, God is opening my heart to empathize with people as they traverse life's various ups-and-downs. He is teaching me to embody His heart for the disadvantaged and downtrodden. Serving as a leader in both Celebration and AWE provides me with opportunities to practice walking as Christ did. I am very far from any milestone, but have left the gate. My focus is forward and onward; with His help, there is no turning back.
